Ma’am Det was my professor last year in Pan Pil 19: Kasarian, Seksuwalidad, at Literatura (Gender, Sexuality, and Literature). She is a great professor, an activist who fights for a cause, who cares about this country and its people, someone who fights oppression. She’s an all around awesome person. Also she loves cats.
Recently I discovered she’s a writer in Filipino, a professor for a Malikhaing Pagsulat class, and then just now I saw this, and wow. A children’s book in Filipino featuring a child with two mothers!
It will be out mid-July or August so be sure to get your copies! I’m gonna buy mine and try to get an autograph. XD

I am tired of the idea pushed to people, usually women, that food = calories, calories = evil, therefore food = evil. I want to talk about food in the context of memories and stories. SO I’M MAKING A ZINE.
HERE IS WHAT I NEED FROM YOU:
+STORIES/ESSAYS somehow related to food
Tell me about your first kiss and how you were super nervous because you just ate a bag of sour cream & onion chips and your breath really smelled. Talk about weird, late night encounters at the grocery store. Other ideas: memorable birthday cakes/baking experiments gone wrong/foods that you associate with your exes/strange cravings.

Weird munchie concoctions accepted.

So remember when my mom offered me a job from this artist guy who’se a parent of these kids from the school she runs? How he turns out to be this guy who inks for Marvel and Image Comics? He told my mom that if I was really interested to get into this field that I should check out a talk from this famous artist that was being held this weekend at a local university, so she made me promise to go and that I would look into it.
It turns out its the Malaysian Games and Comics Convention and not only are there top-notch artists talking but game developers and digital artists with all these workshops and classes and exhibitions and portfolios and cosplaying and lightsaber fights.
Lightsaber fights.
So coz my mum clearly doesn’t know what she got me into I might as well get into the geeky spirit and go in my trusty go-to japanese schoolgirl outfit I have at the back of my closet (What. I have a thing ok.) and attend as Wapanese Faux-Jailbait.
